| Happy Fall! Here are some pictures of our new house in Marshall. We have two barns and lots and lots of fields surrounding us. It's fun to watch the seasons change with the crops in the fields and see all the wildlife here. The cardinals, especially, are beautiful and fun to watch. The second picture was taken from upstairs, near the computer desk. This is my view as I work at the computer. It's lovely, isn't it? These pictures were taken in the summer. Now the fields in the last picture are all golden and light brown, awaiting harvest. We've been enjoying beautiful harvest moons the last few nights. As I drove home a few nights ago, I was marveling at all the color that was beginning to show. The plum brown color of flowery weeds bobbing on their dark green stems, the green and gold of the cornfields, standing patiently, waiting for the harvester, the wash of gold gilding across the soybean fields, with the summer green still below it. There are hints of color on many trees now, like actors waiting in the wings, to burst upon the stage in full costume for the fall play. It is so beautiful already, I am in awe and waiting impatiently for the snap of a cold fall day, a pile of leaves to stomp in and the fun of a new wardrobe of hats, mittens, scarves and boots. Hurray for Fall! |
